Left Outside with No Way In
It was/had been/began a wonderful day until it all changed sour. I was/had been/am currently enjoying a pleasant afternoon hiking/strolling/exploring in the bush when I realized/discovered/noticed that the path/trail/route behind me/I had taken was gone/missing/vanished.
